Ashley Corbett has been a member of the JSR Foundation since 2003. She is a past recipient of the JSR Student Scholarship and an Associate at studioINSITE. She enjoys spending every possible moment with her rapidly-growing kids, Ivy and Leon.

 
 

Pamela Cornelisse, PLA, Sites AP, LEED AP BD+C

Vice President

Pamela is a Senior Park Planner with South Suburban Parks and Recreation District.  She has been practicing landscape architecture for the past 11 years in a variety of public projects including open spaces, parks, and National Parks. Her passion for both the environment and visitor experience are evident throughout her work.  She received her MLA from the University of Colorado at Denver College of Architecture and Planning.  Pamela was awarded the JSR Foundation Scholarship in 2006.

Sarah Doyle

TREASURER

Sarah A. Doyle has been associated with landscape design and contracting since 2000, beginning with her summers in college, working for Castle Rock Gift and Garden in the perennial/ shrubs & tree departments and later, interning for CR Designer Landscaping as a residential landscape designer/landscape installer. After graduation, she continued to develop her landscape skills in commercial landscape estimating by developing accurate cost estimates and working with business developers, landscape architects and general contractors to gain understanding of the business aspects of landscape. Sarah has been committed to providing clients efficient and readable project plan sets. She is involved in every phase of the projects, from overall site plans, hardscape plans and details to landscape plans and marketing boards. Sarah holds Masters degrees in both Landscape Architecture and Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado, and a BS in Landscape Design and Contracting from Colorado State University.

 

Megan Jones Shiotani, ASLA

PRESIDENT

Megan is a Landscape Designer at Wenk Associates, Inc. She received a BA in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. She has worked in architecture and landscape design and research offices in San Francisco, Salt Lake City and Boston. She is on the Executive Committee for Women in Design Denver and is a 2017 participant in the Downtown Denver Leadership Program.

Megan is a backyard beekeeper, amateur home carpenter and an occasional public artist.

Gail Barry, RLA, ASLA

Gail Barry grew up in Colorado Springs. She earned a BA and MA in Fine Arts & Fine Arts Education, spent a year in VISTA, Alaska, then escorted students to Japan for six months. Beginning in 1970 she worked as a landscape designer with Jane Silverstein Ries Landscape Architects. She left to spend 2.5 years in the Marshall Islands, Micronesia working for the District Land Planner. In 1979 she completed her MLA at UC Denver and began work as a landscape architect. Since 1989, as one of the principals in Land Mark Design Inc she has performed a wide variety of work. She has been a member of ASLA since 1982 and is licensed in Kansas, Hawaii and Colorado. Gail was on the ASLA Garden Tour Committee from 1988-2005. She began formatting Exposures in 1991 before moving to editor from 1994-1999. She served as ASLA Colorado Treasurer from 1999 until 2009 and JSR Foundation Treasurer from 2009-2017

 
 

John M. Birkey, ASLA

John Birkey is a Principal and Partner with the Planning and Landscape Architecture firm of Norris Design in Denver, Colorado.  His focus is on landscape architecture and professional photography.  As a landscape architect, John has a passion for horticulture, parks, trails and natural areas.  He has managed a variety of projects since receiving his Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Colorado at Denver, College of Architecture and Planning, including parks and recreation complexes, educational facilities, trails, municipal buildings and master planned communities.   As a photographer, he captures images of natural areas as well as designed and built works of Landscape Architecture.  John is past President of the Jane Silverstein Ries Foundation and Colorado Chapter American Society of Landscape Architects and has been an active board member with the Foundation since 2003.

Lori Catalano, ASLA

Ms. Catalano’s background in professional practice and her teaching experience are closely linked.  She is a licensed and practicing landscape architect in Denver and an assistant professor, clinical teaching track, of landscape architecture at the University of Colorado Denver, positions jointly held for the past twelve years. As a consultant, she designs and manages projects ranging from small private spaces to large parks and outdoor school learning environments with both public and private clients. As a teacher, she is compelled to integrate her relevant knowledge, experience and passion as a practitioner with well-executed pedagogical approaches.

 

Cathe Mitchell

Cathe worked with Jane Silverstein Ries from 1980 until 1989 and then joined with Jane and Gail Barry to establish Land Mark Design. Jane and Cathe continued to provide design for Jane’s long-time clients in addition to new work. Cathe served as president of the JSR Foundation from 2000 to 2005. In 2005, Cathe received the ASLA Medal on Jane’s behalf at the American Society of Landscape Architect Annual Meeting.

 

Patrick Mundus, ASLA, LEED AP

Mr. Mundus is a principal and co-founder of Mundus Bishop Design, Inc. a landscape architecture and planning firm in Denver, Colorado.  His work over the last 25 years has included the design and planning of numerous public space projects throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountain west.  Pat is a graduate of Colorado State University and a past president of ASLA Colorado.

Craig Stoffel, PLA, ASLA

Craig Stoffel is the President-Elect of ASLA Colorado. He is a graduate of Colorado State University and a Landscape Architect at Hord Coplan Macht. He is actively engaged in the Denver Design Community and fosters cross-disciplinary design engagement efforts across Colorado. He is a talented artist and the founder and leader of ASLA's  popular Sketch Denver events.

Jeff Zimmermann, PLA

Jeff Zimmermann, PLA, has exceptional experience in the areas of golf course planning and design, resort planning and design, park design, and planned community development. While his professional experience began in Design Workshop’s Aspen office in 1990, he is now a principal in the Denver office, which has allowed him to work on planning and design projects across the United States, China, Mexico and South America. Jeff has participated in the design and management of golf, resort and community projects in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Washington and West Virginia. He is a graduate from the University of Minnesota and is a registered landscape architect in Colorado.
